Summary Description

The priest of St Peter and St Paul Aston is first mentioned in the Domesday Book around 1165. It is thought that the building probably began as a minster church although archaeological evidence has not yet been found to confirm this hypothesis. As with many Medieval churches in England, St Peter and St Paul Aston has undergone numerous phases of development. Little seems to be known, however, of the development of the church up to the 19th century restoration and particularly its medieval development.
