Summary Description

Formerly known as St.Andrew without Barnwell Gate, the present church was designed by Ambrose Poynter and built in 1842-3 but, it incorporates some earlier material and a large number of monuments and some other contents from the earlier church. The walls are of ashlar, and the roofs slate-covered; the style is that of the late 15th century.
