The present church is all 1858. No information on earlier Clifton churches, the provenance of the cross shaft or Norman doorway, or on the architect of the existing church. Its significance lies in its neat, attractive design, its sunny landscaped setting and the interest of its early artefacts and varied furnishings, albeit of variable quality.
