Summary Description

Built in 1879 and mostly paid for by a few wealthy local families, hence the lavish scale of the building. Replaced a local 1470s chapel of ease which still stands and is used as the church hall. Designed by D Brade, architect, his only recorded work in Cumbria. A spire is unusual in Lakeland.
