Summary Description

The significance of this church is in its community facilities. In 2000 the internal space was sub-divided and this is a surprise on entering the building as, on the outside, it appears a typical Victorian church. The east side still contains the space for worship with the original altar but the pews have gone. Today it is far more flexible than originally intended. On the west side there are now modern facilities that include a lift to the inserted first floor, professional kitchen, meeting room, WC’s and a café! There are some similarities with the alterations at Ennerdale church although the new space is far bigger here. A very successful space for worship although the café conversion could have been a little more imaginative.
