Summary Description

A small church, medieval in origin though not originally on this site. Restored by Ewan Christian in 1878-9. The church was in fact moved to its present location in 1952-3 from its often flooded position at Ferry Fryston half a mile away to the north. A complex architectural history; when it was relocated in the middle of the 20th century, it was purportedly rebuilt with its former north aisle on the south side, and a third bay (West) added to the aisle. The limestone exterior conceals brick beneath.
