Summary Description

Grade I listed Barford St Michael church is set on a mound (possibly man made) on the western edge of the village. Built initially in ~1150 and remodelled in C 13 it is built from regularly coursed ironstone rubble topped with stone coping. The church consists of a chancel, nave, south aisle, tower (unusually placed between the chancel and south aisle), north porch and south porch. The roof is slate with no underfelt.
