Summary Description

Nettlecombe church was thought to have been built in the 12th Century with the Chantry Chapel added around 1450, the tower in 1500 and the North aisle and Trevelyan chapel in 1540. The building was restored around 1820, and 1858-1870. The Church is sited next to Nettlecombe Court a historic building dating back to the 12th Century, which is now a Field Study Centre and in normal times is open all year around and full of visitors. It is within a SSSI area.
