Summary Description

The church is designed in an idiosyncratic early Gothic style with French influences, for example the use of cross-gables and flying buttresses. The vertical emphasis of the steeply pitched roof is emphasised by a belcote with slim stone spire at the south-west corner. The church was built in 1868-71 by R L Adams and J Kelly of Leeds, a respected architect’s practice whose work was mostly in that area.
